The Albin Family
Overview
[edit | edit source]Of the magical families in the story-verse, the Albin family is the most recently codified. Mary Albin is the matriarch. Although not as old as the Moore Family, or as wealthy as the Sault Family (Iyò), the Albin clan has done some incredibly powerful magic in their short time in existence.
History: Salem
[edit | edit source]Witch Trials
[edit | edit source]The most storied Albin family members come from the time of the Salem witch trials. Many of the men and women persecuted were innocent souls, caught up in a mess created by people who were seeking power for themselves. However, on occasion, the zealot priests got lucky.
The Modern Family
[edit | edit source]The Albin family is headed by a matriarch in their traditional home in Delaware. Their magic is rooted in Irish folklore, the first of them coming to America during the potato famine in the early 20th century. Many of them were executed during the Salem Witch Trials, accountingfor their small numbers today. Their impact is more easily understood within localities or the communities that Albin families live.
Members of the family live all over the United States, predominantly in the Midwest. The highest number of Albin family members currently reside in and around the Gary, Indiana area. Distance from other facets of their family leads to infighting among the Albin. But that stops whenever they face a shared threat.
