== Founding Of the Cult of Sodom == The Sodomites were formed of 13 original members in the late 1990's. Those original 13 members were from all over the world, having met online through shared interests online. Through a Reddit thread, the original 13 members met and talked for over a year before finally drafting a charter and signing in person. The first gathering was conducted in Las Vegas, Nevada. === The Originals === The original 13 members consisted of 8 women and 5 men. A woman, Bailey Carter, was elected as the first chairman of the Sodomite cult. That first election set the tone for the Sodomites as an innovative group of people who weren't biased towards men or women. The Sodomites, in their present form, have existed since 1992. Of the original 13 members, only four are still alive and are active participants in Sodomite affairs. The four remaining original members are Jason Hillman, Jasmine Foley, Rebecca Tran, and Harriet Milsap. These original members are treated with reverence among the Sodomites. === Public Perception === The Sodomites are not a very well-known organization, but for those who are aware of them, there is no consensus on the nature of the cult. Many of the informed individuals see the cult as mostly benign, and as long as they remain so, are not a threat in any way. However, there are several people who consider the Sodomites as a new form of Satanic worship. While the Sodomites do consider some of the ideas of Satanists as worth practicing, on the whole, Sodomite members are not very religious people at all. Instead, most people would understand them as being “spiritual” and not traditionally religious.
