The glass surrounding the living quarters is shatter proof and can withstand pressures near to 3000lbs per square inch. The quarters also has ample storage space, the design team having made storage space a requirement of the vehicle during it's development. The living quarters, also called the life pod, sits on top of a hybrid diesel/electric motor, with drive train, triangular treads, and axles mounted on to the base frame. The base frame also houses the wiring for the entire vehicle, therefore, the base frame has been overbuilt to ensure reliability. The frame itself is airtight and the motor can be electrically warmed in severe cold conditions. The living quarters is heated by a separate electrical system and management network. Preventing systems collapse domino effect should the Scarab become compromised.
